Need a website to download music for mp3 player?

I tried limewire but it wasnt working for some reason. My bf has an mp3 player and wants me to download some music to put on it but they all have to be mp3 format. i tried kazaa but the downloads weren’t mp3 format so i need to know where a good website is to download songs for mp3 player. thanks

What program is best value for money (that is legal) and has the best downloads? I download loads of music from itunes but it is very costly.
