What can I use to put music on my mp3 player that won't download viruses?

I don’t mind if I have to pay money, I would use itunes but it’s only for ipods and I don’t know what to use. Don’t say limewire or bearshare or anything similar to it because I KNOW that those download viruses. When mp3 players were made there had to be some way to properly download music onto them!

What is a good place to download free music without attracting viruses?

I want to be able to get more music for my ipod, but I do not know where to get any free music without luring viruses into my computer. People have told me to use limewire or frostwire, but I refuse to use that. Is there anything else I can use that is NOT virus infested?
